@jamesgoodman70962 years agoI played a ebony studio through a marshal JCM TSL 100 for years, I had a single EMG in the bridge, and cut off the neck pup. I regretably sold that guitar, and even to this day nothing has come close. I tuned it to C standard, and played hatebreed ESC style music with it. It was just ridiculously heavy. You lose a little ease of playability as they're heavy and chunky. But you get so much back in return - especially with the early 2000's ones before they started cutting holes in them. Great buy 👍🏻 ...

@rustyshackleford28415 years agoGreat looking guitar man. Can’t even think how cool it’s going to look in 5-10 years with all the wear and tear. 2

@zanmato865 years agoI’ve got a les Paul studio. Great metal guitar. I’ve got a Nailbomb in the bridge of mine and it’s my drop D guitar. Just loves the tuning. 1

@kevinfeatherstone60625 years agoI buy mostly used guitars... I got a really nice Les Paul Studio 2010 used in 2015. I can't play a new guitar because I am always worried about scratching it. This is also the same reason I don't own a $2000 guitar. Sound nice, and you seem to like it. ...1

@barrygomez59685 years agoGood to see a vid from you! How you liking those passives after playing actives all the time? Passives have this nice twang to them that you dont get with EMGs it seems based of my experiences

@blackwingnut165 years agoCongrats on the LP brother! If you develop a taste for them check out Japanese Burny’s from the 80’s. I owned a slew of Gibson’s various LPs and SG’s, and I was blown away by the Burny (1986-87 Burny RLC-50 ? I think)Great quality for a fraction of the money. ...1

@BlaineLudeman5 years agolower output pickups are better for high gain clarity .. those are probably 490s which are about 8k. if they're 498s in the bridge, it's a little hotter but not as hot as a 500t or a dirty fingers that are up around 14k ...

@stotten705 years agoNICE TONE my man! I, too, have had an LP fetish as of late. Picked up two Epi’s recently. Love them both, but gonna swap the pups out on one of them. One day, I’ll step up to an actual Gibson; but for now, the Epi’s are just fine! 😁 And your sound can’t go wrong with that EVH!!! ...
