Exercise-based problems from the Stevenson Power Systems Analysis book. #Stevenson6_3. The synchronous reactance of a generator is 1.0 pu and the dispersion reactance of its armature is 0.1 pu. The phase voltage of phase a at the bar of a large system (infinite bar), to which the generator is connected, is 1.0∠0° pu and the generator is supplying a current Ia equal to 1.0∠-30° pu. Disregard the winding resistance and calculate: (a) the voltage drop in the machine due to the armature reaction; b) the no-load voltage Eg between phase and neutral of phase a of the generator; c) the pu values of P and Q delivered to the bar. #Stevenson6_4 Solve items (b) and (c) of Exercise 1 for Ia = 1.0∠30° pu and compare the results of the two exercises.
