    ingredients
    note
    i love add ketchup to my tomato sauce and my kids love this
    this is not the italian bolognese recipe. This is just my best way to make spaghetti for my little kids
    1 lb spaghetti
    sauce
    30g olive oil
    500 ground beef
    1 onion, finely diced
    2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
    1 28oz crashed tomatoes
    1 tablespoon tomato paste
    2 tablespoons ketchup
    1 tablespoon sugar
    1 tablespoon unsalted butter
    fresh thyme
    1 tsp fine sea salt
    pinch of black pepper, oregano to taste
    half cup of pasta water
    sauce method:
    1. In a dutch oven or heavy pot, heat the oil over medium-high heat until ripping hot.
    2. Add in the ground meat and sear for 3-4 minutes, flip and repeat on the other side for 2-3 minutes. Mash all the meat together using a potato masher until fine.
    3. Add in diced onion, addin the finely chopped garlic, stirring occasionally and reduce heat to medium.
    4. Season to taste with salt,
    5. Add the tomato paste and stir together.
    6. Stir in a can of crushed tomatoes
    7. Add in ketchup, sugar, butter and fresh thyme.
    8. Simmer and reduce for 5-7 minutes or until slightly thickened.
    assembly:
    1. Place spaghetti in a pot of boiling water that has been seasoned generously with salt. Cook according to package instructions or until done. Do not drain the pasta )
    2. Using tongs, pick up the pasta, let it drain slightly, add it to your sauce until all your pasta all pasta has been added, and add half cup of your pasta water. Toss it together until all the pasta is coated evenly in the sauce.
    3. Grate parmesan cheese, and finally, some chiffonade fresh basil.
    4. Place one portion of pasta in a shallow bowl, pour some sauce on top
